2 more wins for the Penns Grove Hornets

Both the 7th and 8th grade Penns Grove Football teams record wins at Chichester.

the 8th grade defense played aggressive allowing only 8 points in their 26-8 victory over Chichester. S Juliann Nadachowski recovered a Chi fumble and DT Kieran Maio recorded a sack. On the offensive side of the ball, Penns Grove’s RB Liam Dearing rushed for 152 yards on 12 carries and accounted for 2 Hornet TDs. RB Brandon Russell carried the ball 3 times for 90 yards and a TD and caught a 55 yard strike from QB Juliann Nadachowski for the Hornets fourth TD of the day.

The 7th grade team started off with a 50 yard fumble recovery by CB Luke Sanders for a TD. LB Mario Pantalone recorded 3 sacks and a safety. DT Sam Blevins recorded 2 sacks. RB Mason Hager led the offense in rushing with 3 carries for 135 yards and 2 TDs. FB Mario Pantalone was on the receiving end of a 70 yard catch and run. QB Brett Kochmansky was 3/3 for 78 yards and a pass for the Hornets PAT to WR Luke Sanders. The Hornets win 22-12.

The Hornets will travel to Kennett to face 2 undefeated Blue Devils teams Wednesday October 9th at 3:15. This is sure to be a game not to be missed. The hornets 8th grade team comes into Kennett with a 3-1 recorded while the 7th grade remains unbeaten at 4-0.

Penns Grove 7th & 8th roll past Pierce for wins

PG 8th grade 1-1.

After Pierce’s Running back rolled into the end-zone on the first play from scrimmage, the Penns Grove defense buckled down and held Pierce to 8 points in a 21-8 victory. The PG defense forced 3 fumbles, 1 interception & recorded 2 sacks. LB Liam Dearing recorded 9 tackles & .5 sack, LB Jared Tweed 6 tackles, DT Dominic Sassi 3 tackles, .5 sack, and 1 fumble recovery, LB John Martinelli 2 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, FS Brandon Russell forced and recovered a fumble and SS Juliann Nadachowski picked off the Pierce QB once. On the offensive side of the ball, Penns Grove settled down and moved the ball extensively on the ground. RB Liam Dearing went 124 yards on 7 carries and 1 TD; RB Brandon Russell rushed for 13 yards and a TD on 2 carries and ran a 72 yard kick return in for a TD. WR Brandon DeShields caught a 2 point PAT and returned 2 punts for 40 yards. Both the defensive and offensive lines played exceptionly well, clogging & creating running lanes and giving QB Juliann Nadachowski plenty of protection.

PG 7th grade 2-0

Watching the PG 7th grade is an exilihrating experience. Holding ALL opponents to zero points and scoring 42 in their first two games, they are looking like a well oiled machine. The offense, led by QB Brett Kochmansky racked up 172 all purpose yards. Kochmansky was 1/3 attempts 1 TD and scampered in for a TD from 11 yards out. RB Mason Hager had 83 yards in 4 carries and a TD (3 runs for TDs were negated do to penalties);FB Mario Pantalone rushed for 46 yards on 5 carries and plugged in a two point PAT; RB Brandoon McWilliams rushed for 49 yards on 8 carries, OG/FB J’Mear Ringgold rushed 5 yards for a TD and ran the ball for two 2 point PATs, WR Luke Sanders received 2 passes for 13 yards; and TE Ray Conneen went 11 yards on one reception. The Defense, led by MLB Mario Pantalone was stingy; recording 2 fumble recoveries and keeping Pierce from entering the end-zone for a 24-0 win. LBs Alija Thomas & Nate Botkin recovered two Pierce fumbles; and DT J’Mear Ringold recorded 4 solo tackles.

Penns Grove’s next opponent is Octoraro 9/25,  3:15 at the OAHS Stadium.
